BPO firm adds Honduras hub to its Bogotá and Caribbean operations
Horatio, a business process outsourcing (BPO) company with existing operations in Colombia and the Dominican Republic, has announced the opening of a new service delivery center in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The new facility is planned to accommodate up to 500 workstations and will initially employ between 20 and 60 workers, with staffing levels intended to grow to full site capacity over time.
The San Pedro Sula location marks Horatio’s entry into a third country of operations in Latin America, following established offices in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and Bogotá, Colombia. The company, which is headquartered in Miami, Florida, describes the expansion as consistent with a nearshore growth strategy driven by increasing client demand.
“As our clients’ needs evolve, we are doubling down on nearshore growth with a focus on quality, compliance, and scalable operations.” — Jose Herrera, CEO and Co-Founder, Horatio
“As our clients’ needs evolve, we are doubling down on nearshore growth with a focus on quality, compliance, and scalable operations,” said Jose Herrera, Horatio CEO and co-founder. Jared Karson, the company’s CFO and co-founder, added that Honduras “presents an opportunity to expand our footprint while delivering the operations our partners depend on.”

The San Pedro Sula center will serve clients in the healthcare, financial technology, e-commerce, and consumer services sectors, handling customer experience management, trust and safety operations, and back-office functions. The expansion is also intended to extend the reach of HoratioHX, the company’s healthcare-focused service division, which provides patient engagement, scheduling, and revenue cycle management support.
San Pedro Sula, Honduras’s second-largest city and its principal industrial and commercial center, has drawn increasing interest from BPO and nearshore operators in recent years. The city offers a bilingual workforce with English proficiency levels that align with North American service delivery requirements, along with direct commercial air connections to Miami and Texas. Horatio cited these geographic and logistical factors as relevant to client onboarding timelines and real-time program management for US-based customers.
Horatio holds an ISO/IEC 27001 information security management certification, which applies to its people, processes, and systems across operations. The certification is positioned as a compliance credential for clients in regulated industries, particularly those in financial technology and healthcare technology that process sensitive personal and financial data.
In 2024, Inc. Magazine ranked Horatio #18 on its list of the fastest-growing private companies in the Northeast Region of the United States. The company operates offices in Miami, Santo Domingo, Bogotá, and now San Pedro Sula. Additional information is available at www.hirehoratio.com.
