South Korea & Colombia To Sign Collaboration Pact On Artificial Intelligence, 5G Mobile Networks

During his visit to Seoul, South Korea, the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy From MinTIC, Colombia’s Ministry of Information & Communications Technogy, Jehudi Castro Sierra, met with his South Korean counterpart Won Ki Min. Won also serves as the head of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy issues for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). As a result of the meeting, both countries agreed that a bi-national cooperation commitment will be formalized in a memorandum of understanding, currently being written.
During the meeting, the deputy ministers discussed future collaboration between Colombia and South Korea on Artificial Intelligence (AI) issues, mobile communications including 5G next generation mobile networks, spectrum management, infrastructure, network neutrality, cyber security, emerging technologies, and digital entrepreneurship.
“The digital future belongs to everyone. The dialogue with government leaders of countries like Korea is fundamental for the implementation of our ICT plan because in this way we exchange experiences with references to the digital transformation of the country in terms of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as Artificial Intelligence,” said Vice Minister Castro Sierra.
Castro Sierra also met with the representatives of the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (Kofac), a foundation that deals with the importance of the development of science and the education of creative convergence, to address issues related to education in skills and digital entrepreneurship
