London-based robotic process automation (RPA) provider Symphony Ventures has named A.J. Hanna as vice president for client advocacy.

The incoming executive will oversee customer experience efforts with clients in sectors such as health care, banking, logistics that are working with Symphony on RPA, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.

Hanna previously worked for Ascension Health, an early adopter of RPA, and has almost three decades of experience in the healthcare sector in roles that have spanned operations to insurance claims processing to provider outreach.

In addition to first-hand experience as an RPA user, he has also developed his automation expertise through participation on the IEEE Working Group on Standards in Intelligent Automation and the HfS FORA Council.

“He is a legend in our field,” said Ian Barkin, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Symphony Ventures. “But more importantly, he’s been in the shoes of our clients. He understands the challenges they face, the questions they ask and the benefits they seek.”

As part of the push by Symphony Ventures to increasingly embrace digital channels, Hanna will maintain a YouTube channel to discuss automation topics and answer user-submitted questions.

“I’m excited to be joining the Symphony family,” said Hanna. “Having been on the adoption side, I’ve seen the benefits these technologies can deliver. I’m also aware of the challenges faced on the journey. That’s why this role is so timely and important.”
