At its annual awards ceremony last month, the Global Sourcing Association (GSA) recognized Indian IT provider NIIT Technologies Limited with its “Automation Project of the Year” award for its robotic process automation (RPA) software.
The company stood out for its insurance industry work to help clients automate “risk entries for all its high volume lines of business,” including aviation, cargo, marine, and terrorism policy lines. It has also proven beneficial by helping insurers automate reports through its TermsMonitor framework.
To win the award, NIIT Technologies beat out shortlist nominees Sykes, DFDS Polska, and WNS. “This award celebrates the value that the technology providers are delivering to their clients and we are thrilled to be a part of the winning list,” said Sasanka Panda, head of BPO for NIIT Technologies.
Among the other winners were BT and Infosys for in the “Digital Transformation Project of the Year” category. Hexaware did not take away the prize but did receive a “highly commended” recognition from GSA in same category. In other tech-focused areas, Capgemini and Heathrow won for “ITO Project of the Year” and Capita O2 Partnerships won for “Innovation in Outsourcing.”
Tata Consultancy Services took home the event’s top honor of “Outsourcing Service Provider of the Year,” npower was named “Outsourcing Buyer of the Year,” Infosys won the “Offshoring Project of the Year” award.
Kerry Hallard, CEO of the GSA UK, said that the awards ceremony in London held by GSA, which was formerly known as the National Outsourcing Association, took on special importance this year because it was the organization’s 30th anniversary. “The sourcing industry is being disrupted at unprecedented speed and on a global level,” she added. “This makes the fabulous results delivered by our award nominees even more remarkable.”
