Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Adopts Kofax Kapow RPA Solutions

The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. has adopted Kofax’s robotic process automation (RPA) solutions, Kofax Kapow and Kofax TotalAgility, to overhaul its legacy systems.

In all, the bank, a subsidiary of the Tokyo-based Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (MUFG), is looking to automate more than 2,000 processes across all functions.

Hirofumi Aihara, general manager of the digital transformation division of MUFG, says that the work done so far with the Irvine, California-based RPA provider represents a significant stuff forward and a “more comprehensive deployment” will set the bank up to complete its full digital transformation goals by 2021.

“Thanks to Kofax, we’ve experienced the broad benefits of RPA in targeted areas of our business,” said Aihara.

Kofax added that it is continuing to see more interest from Japanese firms when it comes to RPA and digital transformation solutions.
